Day 57: Beginner Fields

Day 57 login

Fortunately, the remaining two expedition fields [Jungle of Clamor] and [Mt. Murakumo] wasn’t as difficult as the forest earlier.

Of course, there were many new gimmicks. Squalls, fog, and other climate-related field gimmicks were particularly troublesome in Shirahae, where the weather changes rapidly.

When my foot got caught in the mud and stumbled heavily, I was somewhat bummed out. Although it doesn’t cause much damage, the mud is designed to stain my clothes, even though it disappears after a minute.

Although I have layered up my armor and changed my boots for the expedition, I still wear the same pure white captain’s costume. It is an unrivaled kind of costume when it comes to making mud stains stand out.

Besides, it’s embarrassing to fall alone in a place where you don’t know anyone. I would laugh it off if I had a friend, but I don’t have friends like that.

Many things are new to me, but I’m getting a handle on how to deal with these new gimmicks when I run into them, like changing equipment and adjusting the NP party’s approach.

The difficulty level would be higher in the Jungle of Clamor than in the Sick Forest, and Mt. Murakumo than in the Jungle of Clamor, but this isn’t the case.

The rules here are complicated, so let me explain them step by step.

First, players can choose one of the following nations as their base of operations: Lestein, Shirahae, or Danama. In each nation, beginners must first overcome three “beginner’s fields,” or expedition fields.

In Lestein, the three fields are (1) “Serenity Hill,” (2) “Tomb of the Ancient Kings,” and (3) “Sick Forest.” These three fields can be entered in the order of (1), (2), and (3), and the difficulty level increases in the same order.

If you choose another country as your base, the rules are the same, and there will be beginner’s fields in the corresponding nation. For Shirahae, it is (1) “Mt. Murakumo,” (2) “Jungle of Clamor,” and (3) “Lightning Field,” while for Danama, it is (1) “Twilight Swamp,” (2) “Meteoric Wilderness,” and (3) “Cave of Nothingness.”

When the third field in their home country is cleared, they are awarded the title of [Excellent Adventurer], which allows them to freely enter the other two countries and the various expedition fields.

The clear condition is something like [Reach a specific place in the Sick Forest] in the world mission. If it were this much, I might have gone for the regular title, but it was a hassle, so I haven’t done it yet.

Back to the main topic.

Then what happens to the difficulty level when a player who has solved various travel restrictions tries a beginner’s field in another country? For example, will it be easier or harder when a player from Lestein sets foot in Mt. Murakumo, a field in Shirahae (1)?

The answer is neither, and they have a fluctuating level system. All beginner fields are designed to change in difficulty based on your or your party’s level once you have cleared the one in your country.

By definition, a beginner’s field ceases to be a beginner’s field at this point. You might not understand what I’m talking about, but I don’t know what I’m talking about either, so please just let it slide.

Besides, in the case of a player like me, the situation is unique.

As I mentioned earlier, I haven’t conquered the beginner’s field. Despite this, since I have acquired the [Time-limited Title: Excellent Adventurer], I can move freely from one country to another.

This means that beginner fields in other countries are still beginner fields. The difficulty level is constant, especially in Mt. Murakumo, so it is very easy for me.

It was worth the hassle of clearing the world mission. kimakura is a good game for lazy people.

Finally, the end of Mt. Murakumo is in sight. Peeping out from between the peaks is Shirogane, the town at the top of the mountain.

There was a Memory Door, so I saved and logged out for the day.

As I was thinking about this, my eyes unexpectedly met a player’s.

She was a small, slender girl with a round haircut. We aren’t acquaintances or anything, but I naturally recognized her face because of her distinctive high-school girl’s sweater, ribbon tie, and plaid pleated skirt.

The moment she saw my face, she bounced and ran away as if in a panic. What is that reaction, like she saw a bear in the mountains?

Aside from that, the fact that I recognize her means that I have seen her before. Yeah, I saw her just yesterday while wandering in the jungle.

This is something that’s been happening a lot lately.

If I look around me, I can see them. That tall, lanky, fox-eyed man, whenever I go out on an expedition, I always seem to see him.

I also saw that young lady-like girl in the blue dress and the player with the big winged insect were around the day before yesterday.

In short, the players around me are becoming more and more fixed these days. I wonder why.

It’s not like someone is always chasing me, and I don’t think of myself as being stalked, but it does bother me.

Judging from the recent event’s number of participants, this game has more than 30,000 active users. Among them, it’s rare to see the same faces around every day, even though they didn’t show up at the same time.

Is there a server or a channel, and the members are fixed to some extent? I don’t know much about that; I’m not an expert.

It’s not like they bother me, so I don’t mind. But if I keep falling in the mud and getting my clothes dirty, like I did yesterday, I’m afraid the other side might recognize me as clumsy.

Yes, sorry for being so self-conscious.

To all those I see often, excuse me for logging out first.
