Three mushroom-shaped monsters, Merry Mush, and two horse-shaped monsters, Corpse Horse, with only bones, surround us.
Within my field of vision, I quickly operate the command panel for the No Player party.
The members are Mikoto, Conner, and Dirka. From left to right, they are Hunter, Guardian, and Hunter-type children.
For starters, Merry Mash regenerates its friends as soon as you leave one or two behind midway, so the standard practice is to save your strength and unleash them all at once.
Mikoto and Dirkaa-chan quickly build up their counterattack gauge, but Conner’s is a little slower. And I, the unathletic person, am even slower.
So, even though the enemy attacks were firing one after another here, I held back for a bit.
When my gauge finally built up, I administered [Omurice], [Yakitori], and [Fried Shout Fish] to the members.
In Kimakura, edible items are used to buff NPCs. Mikoto likes omurice and Conner likes yakitori, both of which boost the overall status of NPCs except for [Endurance] and [Stamina].
By the way, Dirka’s favorite food is [Wise Cookie], but even if she is doped up with it, her firepower is a little weak to kill a mushroom with a single blow. This is where the fried shout fish comes in.
She is a special character among expedition supporters, possessing the power of [High Absorption]. This high skill allows her to instantly convert what she eats into her abilities and special characteristics.
This creates a new option in the skills list.
[Shout]. This is a ranged skill with a probability of putting the target in a tensed state.
When this is tapped, Dirka-chan shouts.
It’s not a guaranteed success, and the Corpse Horse probably has a way to counter that. But usually one or two of the mushrooms will get caught.
Once I recognize that, I will instruct Mikoto-kun to [Hunt] and Conner to [Counterattack].
The target is given priority to the mushrooms that evaded the skill. Each person is in charge of one mushroom.
The remaining mushrooms will also be stunned, so the skill [Regrowth], which regenerates the mushrooms, cannot be used. You are good to go as long as you handle it calmly and surely.
Now we are ready to deal with the Corpse Horse.
The tricky thing about this horse is the skill [Disease Shareon]. It spits an ominous colored spit all around itself and mutates the field.
One of the horses immediately used this skill. The field, which used to be grassland, is now covered with reddish-black puddles.
If you step on them, you will take damage and be poisoned.
But don’t panic.
Mikoto and Dirka are agile and light, so they can leap and avoid the puddles to finish off their opponents. They sometimes step on traps, which is still within a safe range.
The one who must be careful is Conner.
His agility is low, so he has no jumping ability, and his movements are monotonous. He is like a tank that runs like a wild boar.
At first, I had to leave him to his own devices several times, but I had learned by now.
Conner-kun, you stay by my side. And if the enemy comes this way, protect me.
We were able to handle the attackers without any danger.
The place where the monster was killed is marked with an icon that resembles the monster’s skull. Since the game is intended for all ages, the carcass couldn’t be shown, which is probably why it was designed this way.
Using Mikoto and Dirka’s skill [Dismantling] here, you can get drop items from this icon.
