Mac-kun is out to buy something for alchemy.
Yotsuba and Nancy-san are taking a nap.
Nell is sitting at the reception table.
If guests came, she would wake up Nancy-san, but so far, no guests have come.
I was teaching Nell how to felt cat fur with a felting needle.
The fur is provided by me and everyone else who gathers at the cat meeting place.
I used a comb to get some of it.
After washing it lightly with hot water and drying it with [Accelerated Alchemy], I went through the process of [Detoxification] just to be sure it was clean.
The fur is placed, wrapped around an alchemically made needle with a jagged tip, and then poked.
Repeat the process to make a round furball.
Stick the needle in, then combine the furballs.
Make a facial expression with black fur, and voila.
“Wow! It’s a cat!”
“Nya (Yeah!)”
The felt cat mascot is completed.
It’s cute, even if I say so myself.
“Can I hang this up at the inn?”
“Nya (It’s okay.)”
I nod. Nell happily decorates the mascot.
“It’s kind of fun!”
I’m glad she’s having fun with it.
I was teaching Nell to make felted dolls, thinking that she could sell them if she made them, but she doesn’t necessarily have to.
It’s fun just to make them.
After a while, Mac-kun came home and asked me what we were doing, so I showed her the cat mascot.
Then, Mac-kun asked if she could make one, too, so I decided to teach her.
“Nya (You can do it.)”
“Neko-san, what’s that?”
“Is that a new magical beast?”
I made an octopus, but neither of them recognized it.
Was it because I used brown instead of red, since I didn’t have red fur, and they didn’t recognize it?
No, maybe I was just too bad at it.
But they simply didn’t know what an octopus was.
Nell had never seen the ocean.
That reminds me, I’ve never seen the ocean in this world either.
After this, Nancy-san and Yotsuba also woke up, and even Nancy-san started to join in.
Yotsuba looks at the octopus and says she wants to eat takoyaki.
I want some too—Takoyaki and cold beer.
While Nancy-san was absorbed in felting, Nell started to cook dinner for the guests.
Nancy-san also stopped her work in a hurry and went to the kitchen to cook with Nell.
Today’s dinner was vegetable soup and killer boa steaks.
Yotsuba blurted out that she wanted to graduate from weaning as soon as possible.
