Chapter 135: Lord of the Forest

This is Franbel Forest.

Aurene and the other elves knelt in front of me.

“Nyanko-san, please give me permission to tame magical beasts in the forest~”

Taming seems to be a skill to control a magical beast.

The beasts can be used as combatants, horses for transportation, for communication, as farming aids, and for many other purposes.

The elves have found that they can lead a stable life in this forest, and they have decided to live here on a full-scale basis.

[Just don’t attack the humans.]

“Then you’ll get hit when the other side attacks you~”

[Why don’t you just run away?]

“No~ it’s difficult, isn’t it?”

After the discussion, we decided to allow them to fight back to the extent that they wouldn’t die.

However, if they run away, they must promise not to chase after them.

“Oka~y, everyone, I’m going to tame a strong magical beast!

Do you remember the spells~?

[Pledge allegiance to me. Tame.]”

“I’ll tame the Singer Bird!”

“I will tame the Killer Boa!”

Aurene and the others dispersed from the place with great enthusiasm.

…You’re doing something interesting, aren’t you?

“Nyaa— ([Pledge allegiance to me. Tame.])”

I cast the spell on the ants in the area.

――――――――――――――――――――――――
Taming Result: Failed

As [Lord of the Forest], you may use any beast born in the Franbel Forest without the need to tame it.
You can’t tame more than one magical beast at the same time.
You can only tame one beast at a time.
You have no aptitude for taming.
――――――――――――――――――――――――

Oh, I’m recognised as the Lord of the Forest, right?

I ordered the ants to line up as a test, and they did.

When I told them to get out of line and return to their original task, they started walking around as they used to.

But I don’t have any aptitude for taming, do I?

If I use the title [Lord of the Forest], can I do something similar?

Or better yet, to what extent are my instructions as [the Lord of the Forest] effective, how long will they last, and how many will they affect?

Let’s experiment!

◇ ◇ ◇ ◇

These are the experimental results.

My own cries dictate the instructions given by [Lord of the Forest].

It’s not enough to just think. You can’t be too far away for them to hear you.

However, if I raise my voice, I can give directions from quite a distance away.

Even if they don’t have ears, they can listen to me.

The target creature is any creature that was born in the forest.

They can be anything from large, magical beasts, such as a wild boar, to microorganisms like fungi.

There was a time when ordering a wild boar not to destroy a house was meaningless.

At that time, I didn’t have the title of [Lord of the Forest].

But now, if I order them to ‘stop,’ they obediently do what I tell them to do.

And the order is valid for at least a few hours.

There is an ant that I have been giving orders to since I started the experiment, and he is still following the instructions.

The poor thing is so pitiful, I think it’s time to stop it.

The number of orders I can give….

From what I can see, there seems to be room for more than 1000.

Maybe there is no limit to the number.

The results of the experiment were more frightening than expected.
