Day 41: Stop the Stampede! (Part 2)

First, I will buy items that have a sleeping effect.

In this event, battles should be won by putting the opponent to sleep or reducing their endurance to the bare minimum. Since I have no experience in regular fighting, I’m not confident in my ability to minimize endurance, so I think relying on items is a good idea.

If you manage to blast through the endurance bar and defeat it, you will not only not get any points but will also not contribute to the overall event’s success.

Each player’s actions also affect the flow of the narrative.

If we make a rash move, we may have a disturbing outcome, just like the Sick Forest closing incident. We have to be very careful.

It seems that the NP parties couldn’t be organized for this event. The guild was understaffed at this critical time, and several services, including the helpers’ application, were unavailable.

Can helpers from other towns be called in and go straight to the event? I checked and found out that it’s not possible.

It seems that you have to talk to Tefana each time you want to join in the defense of Rendluszka, and since the NP party is supposed to disband once it enters any town, the event battle can be done solo or with a party of other players.

Well, that can’t be helped. Of course, I will take on the challenge in solo glory.

I read the word loneliness as solitude. Solitude is freedom, a great man once said.

Once I finished my preparations, I headed for the southern area, which was the least difficult.

On the way to the town, I thought I was in Kimakura, so despite the difficult situation, there wasn’t much of a tense mood.

This game is fundamentally a grind-based game focusing on ‘daily life.’ It is obvious that no effort is put into action, and the monsters aren’t designed to be scary.

There are some aggressive-looking ones, but there are more cute and comical ones. Sometimes, some are incredibly graphic and creepy, especially insects.

Hence, even though it was my first battle, I was able to start exterminating the monsters without much fuss.

It’s a simple job of throwing a large needle you have equipped at a phantom you find.

The needles are coated with [Sleeping Pill]. I can do my job quite well by combining this with the skills [Certain Hit] and [French Knot].

The [Certain Hit] is useful because it ensures that even the quickest phantoms will be hit, and [French Knot] works to stop the opponent’s movement, which helps deal with enemies with heavy one-hit attacks.

The probability of inflicting a sleep effect is about half of all the attacks I hit.

Sometimes, I could barely do it, but even without battle skills, I had money. If I pushed hard with the power of items, I was able to get by most of the time.

Crow-san, Rabbit-san, Wolf-san… I would nonchalantly put them in a coma and slowly collect points.

—However, it happened suddenly, without any warning.

“………huh?”

When I noticed, my vision was covered in total darkness.

This is the same blackout phenomenon that I experienced yesterday. The difference from yesterday was that the words’ GAME OVER’ floated in the air.

After that, my body was returned to my home. Looking at my familiar room, I reflected on the events that had just occurred in my mind.

There was ‘GAME OVER’, wasn’t there? Game over…. The appearance of that phrase in this game means that… I’m back from the dead!

I checked my status in a panic. My level had dropped by one, and my endurance bar had entered the red gauge.

Ugh~~~~, back from my first death, I’m screwed~~~~. In kimakura, you can get back lost items and other items due to a penalty if you head to the same place within the time limit, so that’s good.

But where on earth did I get that kind of damage? Thinking back on my actions earlier, I don’t have the slightest idea.

The problem is that I have no way to reflect on it.

Before I was brought back here, I’m sure the last time I looked at my endurance bar, it was close to full. Then, I guessed that I was hit by a huge blowout, meaning I had taken a lot of damage from the high firepower.

I’ve never encountered such a strong phantom in that beginner’s area. And it’s not a matter of bad luck or some level of surprise that I’m not aware of it at all.

………Hmmm…?

[Kuma-tan]
Knights without a hometown are a pure evil, rampaging in the eastern area
Please go on a business trip

[hyuy @ looking for work]
No, no
Today, they are in the West
Look on social media, there’s a schedule

[msky]
There are a lot of guys in the East who can fight reasonably well, let alone in the West
You’ve got to defend yourself, either by flattering the clans or by getting around them so that they don’t hate you

[Saya Fukase]
Those who say come to the East and the West are parasites who can’t learn anyway, so those without a home should come to the North
And then they’ll get into a four-way fight, and they’ll all go down

[3745]
Stop calling them without hometown
It’s Knights Without Borders

[Milan]
Shut up, I have no use for a submassive piece of shit who’s only job is to make MAD
Get me Efy

[3745]
What the hell are you saying

[Efy]
Milan, you’re the only one I can’t help

[Major Sergeant Oloron]
Efyyyyyy come to Easttttttt
I can’t do my job because of the pact group’s indiscriminate bombing

[Valletta]
Come North
I’ll welcome you ^^

[msky]
Well, the social media schedule says they’ll be in the South tomorrow. Shouldn’t the South be left alone?
There are only three types of losers in the world: weak-minded, unsociable, and thugs who can only fight against the weak, so I think they should be cut off

[Efy]
We have newbies and casual players to save

[Milan]
There are no newbies or casual
What in the world are you talking about

[Elnegy]
Open your eyes and see the reality
There are only fools, motherfuckers and bastards in this world
Which one of those three do you think is lovable?
Yeah, the middle
The fool is beyond saving. The last one will destroy itself
Soooo, without hometown, come East
Fuck you, pact

[Ceciwia]
As soon as it comes to this kind of event, the hometown-less are very popular

[Efy]
The pact is about to go north

[((Bomu))]
How can you guys be charitable in this end-of-the-century game?
There’s not a single person worth helping when you look around

[Valletta]
Are the unemployed coming?
I’m tired of dealing with them, so I’ll go to Eefi and the others
I also want to meet Bomu, Mayu and Ninao
Let’s play together! ^^

[Rinrin]
I don’t know how you can get so worked up when you’re not even that strong, Valle-san
You’ve been back from the dead four times already today

[Mercury]
Please don’t be such an agitator
We have zero life left to live

[Major Sergeant Oloron]
This is Kimakura
Every time there is a defense event, the average level of all players drops significantly

[Spade]
The Twist family always has a wave of level zones, though, even when it’s not a defensive event…

[Piano Jam]
① Raise the level
② Fight with the top players
③ Level down
④ Back to ①
Kimakura is a nihilistic game that repeats this endlessly

[Kuma-tan]
LOL

[Saya Fukase]
You guys seem to be having fun all year round
