Chapter 94: Contact start

Since I have finished writing my memories of Nell, I am also writing (or typing) a letter to the King.

The letter was about Flamberge.

Three years ago, Flamberge, the ancient dragon, was resurrected as a stone statue.

When he entered the town, he was attacked.

Now he lives in my house.

He wants to be treated nicely.

I wrote those things in the letter.

Tomorrow, I will give this letter to Mac-kun.

She is said to be under the King’s good graces, so I will ask her to deliver the letter to the King.

The next day, I visited the innkeeper.

Upon arriving at the inn, Mac-kun bows her head to me.

“Neko-san! The King ordered more typewriters from the dwarves.

Without those special sponges, they can’t make typewriters!

Can you please make them for me?!”

On a wooden board, I drew the sponge blueprint and handed it to Mac-kun.

This delicate ratio for bubbles can’t be made by self-study.

“Hmm, even I couldn’t make this one.

Neko-san, are you perhaps more skilled in alchemy than I am?”

Huh? Is that so?

Taking out a piece of wood, I try to create it with [Separation Alchemy].

The wood became a thin sponge sheet.

Since it is made of dietary fiber, it is a cheaply made product compared to a polyurethane sponge.

“Ooh! As expected of Neko-san!

I’ll give it to the dwarves right away!”

Mac-kun ran out of the inn.

I would give her the letter, but we can do that later.

“Nell—. Can you please take care of Yotsuba while Mama takes a nap?”

“Okaay. Neko-san, come here—”

When I followed Nell into the innkeeper’s room, Nancy-san was there with dark circles in her eyes.

After what happened the other night, she must have been worried about Yotsuba and had trouble sleeping.

Moments later, Nancy-san fell asleep.

Nell removed the [Open] sign in front of the inn and returned.

“Neko-san, Yotsuba is thrilled when I show and read the book to her.”

[I see. Then how about this?]

Then I took out the Japanese letterboard I had made earlier.

“Aauhh.”

The board is placed in a position where Yotsuba can reach it.

Yotsuba touches the board while patting it.

…It’s amusing. She can hold up her neck. That should still take a couple of months.

“How cute she is.”

Nell watches this scene innocently, probably because she doesn’t know that these letters are in Japanese.

Baby Yotsuba was touching the letters in the intended order.

[Nice to meet you, Neko-san.] in that order.

As I thought, she speaks Japanese.

There is no doubt about it. This baby has memories of her previous life.
