Yotsuba POV
Today, Nell and I are at the town cemetery with Nancy.
“Nell, I have something important to tell you.”
“Papa didn’t run away, he died, didn’t he?”
“…”
Nell is now eight years old.
Until today, Nancy had been hiding the truth about Nell’s father from her.
The clever Neru-chan, however, had already figured it out.
“Mhm, that’s right.
Here’s Yotsuba’s father’s grave.”
Oh no! My father!
When I was born, he didn’t even come to see me. Did he die?
It’s like he was just an afterthought to Nell’s father.
Poor thing.
I’ll bring some flowers for him next time.
“It’s been five years since Nell’s papa died, right?”
“Yeah.”
“Na-mu—”
As I bowed my head in prayer, the two looked at me, puzzled.
I see. So Buddhism isn’t practiced here.
We returned to the inn after listening to stories about my father at the cemetery.
…Wait a minute.
Who is the man Nancy is going out with?
I’m starting to suspect that Nancy is a promiscuous woman.

Tomita (Cat) POV
I have become the “God of Alchemy,” reducing the MP required for alchemy to zero.
Thanks to this, I can now create things that would have been far too MP-intensive even to consider making before.
I decided to try it on a whim, perhaps a bit carried away.
I have no regrets.
I built a waterwheel across the large river that flows through the forest and used it to power an automatic loom and a mill.
If it were the old me, it would have taken about 100,000 MP to make it with alchemy.
And if it had been done by hand, it would have taken an absurd amount of time to make.
But now, as long as I have the materials, I can make it instantly.
With [Shrinking], even detailed work is possible.
The elves should already have been told how it works, so they should be able to use it starting today.
Next, shall we try making some items in the shop using alchemy?
A glass container, artificial graphite for making pencils, painkillers, and then….
a/n: Nell’s father is the innkeeper, and Yotsuba’s father is an adventurer.
