Day 39 login
When I opened the shop panel, there were nine requests.
Who knows what kind of things people are asking for? Hopefully, they are not too crazy, but I was half excited and half nervous.
However, when I opened the page, I found that most were requests for different colours or materials from existing designs. What a relief!
With my sewing skills, I can make many of these items quickly, so I’ll deliver the ones for which I have enough materials.
After completing the daily missions and going to the library to look for recipes and skills, I decided to go on an expedition for the first time in a while today.
It’s been more than two weeks since my first non-player party visited the Tomb of the Ancient Kings….
For goodness ‘ sake, I would like to visit other towns or nations. To do that, I have to progress through the World Missions.
Kimakura Utopia offers a highly flexible play style. However, there are also some guidelines called ‘Missions. ‘
There are five types of Missions: Daily, Job, Communicative, World, and Special.
I’ll skip the Daily and Special missions because they’re different types. In my case, I’m making pretty good progress with Job, moderate progress with Communicative, and remarkably slow progress with World Missions.
I have been holed up in the home, doing nothing but production, and I guess that has come back to bite me.
That’s why I decided to go on this mission to broaden my scope of activities.
The next mission on the list was to go to the Sick Forest. The first thing to do was to go to the guild and complete the necessary procedures to hire Mikoto-kun for expedition help.
They gave me some brief advice about each field expedition. When I asked about the ‘Sick Forest’, they said—
“The Sick Forest is currently closed to visitors.”
Huh? How is that possible?
When asked for further details, I was told that a group of adventurers under the guild’s leadership had attempted to purify this forest of poisonous fog.
But they failed to purify the forest, and the forest master went berserk, causing the affected beasts to nearly stampede.
Thanks to the help of Orca, a wise man from Shirahae who was cooperating with the project at the time, they managed to seal off the forest itself. However, the seal could not be broken, and it has remained in place to this day.
“The video footage from that time is stored at the Kimakura Historia. If you are interested, please take a look.”
That said, I went to the official video site and found that a summary video had been released as [Revolutionary Event > Closed Forest].
The project itself was a player-participatory event. But, it went wrong.
The NPCs quietly go about their business while the players start squabbling over working spots near their favorite characters, and a giant, angry owl-shaped beast attacks. The players are literally dragging each other down, cursing each other, “You’re the war criminal,” “No, you’re the war criminal.” The forest is buzzing, the beasts are running amok, and the players are ranting, “You’re going to throw in a serious development like this at the last minute?” “I don’t want a repeat of Maizpolis all over again!”
Oh my, the video was worth watching in many ways…
But you know, that last bit with the wise Orca-san was genuinely cool.
She scatters golden seeds around the forest and pours water on them with fantasy watering cans, and the giant ivy plants grow into the sky and spread their vines to cover the forest.
There is also a huge tree in the center of the forest that bears blue fruits, and the ivies intertwine with the branches of the tree as if they are holding hands. These plants eventually closed off the forest into a dome-like structure.
It is physically impossible to enter the forest, but it is possible to get close to it. The guild member recommended that we go out to see for ourselves. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words.
This means that even if we can’t explore, we can still complete the world mission itself. The border town of Rendluszka is going in the same direction, so we should go there without changing our destination for the time being.
I heard that the ‘Sick Forest’ is located beyond ‘Serenity Hill,’ so I met up with Mikoto-kun at the south gate. I gave him an order of [Hunting Priority], and we decided to go on foot while gathering materials.
Last time, we had a bumpy four-person party with 20% cohesion, but this time, we have a two-person party with 50% cohesion. Because of this, Mikoto-kun is working faster and is in a better mood than before.
It may have been difficult to work on the previous trip, as almost all of us had never met each other before, and it was also my first expedition as the owner. Sorry, Mikoto-kun… Sorry, everyone….
There is a small barn-like decaying structure on Serenity Hill, but I couldn’t enter it when I came here before because the door wouldn’t open, probably because it was tilted.
But when I passed by there today, I saw Mikoto-kun coming and going in front of the door, so I went to the door and saw—
Boom.
He kicked the door, and it easily opened with a single kick.
Mikoto-kun looked so proud of himself with a grin on his face. When I praised him with a petting motion, his expression relaxed even more.
Mmm, he’s so cute. It is no wonder he is number two in popularity.
His carefree visuals deceived me, and I initially thought he was a well-brought-up, young master type. In fact, he’s a pretty muscle-head and wild child character.
It was probably thanks to his skill [Mad Power Craigs] that the door opened for him. The other skills he possesses are [Hunting], [Dismantling], [Tree Climbing], and [Counterattack].
Well, he is quite an enigmatic character.
When I looked inside through the open door, I saw plants I had never seen before covering the ground there.
The small violet-like flowers and the pure white clover with heart-shaped leaves were especially pretty. They must be new material items, no doubt.
Naturally, I was impatient to pull them out.
The guild points I’ve acquired so far have increased the capacity of my item box quite a bit. I’ll take as many as I can.
I’m not at all short of money at the moment.
There is something fun about pulling out medicinal herbs. When I discover new materials, my desire to collect them is piqued.
With these discoveries, here are the new materials we were able to obtain this time, including the ones Mikoto-kun obtained.

The violas and clovers are so cute, and it would be wonderful if they could be used as accessories like headdresses. I might try it next time.
As I was leaving the building, I saw a shadow in front of me.
“Look who it is, the baby from Tefana’s side. It’s been a long time.”
The woman with a husky voice suddenly appeared, dressed in black and wearing a smirking mask.
It’s Magdalene-san.
